Hypoallergenic - An Empty Claim

The use of the marketing world manufactured word "Hypoallergenic" is an empty claim. It is used by many companies on their product packaging and information websites and one consumers have accepted without questioning. It can make us believe that our asthma and allergy concerns are better served by products with this what can sometimes look like a official medical stamp of approval.

In truth, this claim of being hypoallergenic is not regulated by the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says "There are no Federal standards or definitions that govern the use of the term 'hypoallergenic'. The term means whatever a particular company wants it to mean."

Its a clever marketing word that in many cases may have no scientific back up and consumers would be advised to dig deeper into why the claim is there before making their final purchase decision.

In the case of Pure Zees, we are scientifically tested and proven by the AAFA certification program to be of benefit to those with asthma and allergies.
